DANVILLE- A gas line was broken by a crew digging in Danville today but it was quickly repaired by PG&E crews, according to the utility.

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District reported that a gas line was broken at 1100 Camino Tassajara at 10:10 a.m. today. PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said the utility’s crews responded at 10:20 a.m., stopped the flow of gas at 10:33 a.m. and had repairs on the half-inch service line completed by 10:50 a.m.

The line’s rupture was caused by a third party digging project and could have been prevented had 811 been called to pinpoint nearby underground gas lines, Sarkissian said.
