Postal Worker Robbed In Blackhawk, Suspect At-Large: Sheriff

The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said that a postal worker was the victim of a strong-arm robbery on a residential Blackhawk street.

BLACKHAWK, CA — A U.S. Postal worker was held up by a suspect in Blackhawk Wednesday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

A USPS mail carrier reported that he was threatened at around 11:28 a.m. Wednesday on the 2000 block of Portola Drive by a suspect who demanded his property, according to CCSO spokesperson Jimmy Lee. The suspect then fled on foot, and the mail carrier was not injured.

Deputies and other agencies, including the United States Postal Inspection Service, searched the area, but did not find any suspects, according to Lee.

U.S. Postal Inspector Matthew Norfleet told CBS that a reward of up to $150,000 is available for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

In May, a USPS postal worker was robbed at gunpoint in Dublin. She was not injured, and the two masked suspects also fled on foot.
