Danville Recycling Bins To Be Inspected, Receive Tags If Sorted Wrong
RecycleSmart will conduct "lid flip" inspections of Danville recycling bins, and provide tags with information on proper sorting.

DANVILLE, CA — RecycleSmart is collaborating with SCS Engineers to inspect Danville recycling bins the week of September 30, the town announced Wednesday. The initiative is in line with Senate Bill 1383, which mandates annual route audits to monitor waste contamination and improve recycling practices.
Teams will visually inspect recycling bins across the towns for correct separation of organics, recyclables, and landfill materials. Organics like food scraps and yard trimmings should be separated from landfill waste to reduce the environmental impact.
If items are found in the wrong cart, residents will receive a tag detailing the contamination and providing tips for proper sorting. No fines will be issued, but Republic Services may refuse to service contaminated carts.
