The district enters the year dealing with $3.5 million in board approved cuts, and a total of $37.5 million in cuts made since the start of 2024. Despite a long list of proposed revenue enhancements, the district remains one of the lowest-funded in California, and receives the lowest funding per student of any unified school district, according to the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation. As a result, community volunteers remain as important as ever to the district. If any parents or community members would like to volunteer, additional requirements are in place for the 2025-26 year. See here for more information.

A new district wide cell phone policy is in effect. Elementary and middle school students are not permitted to use cell phones, smart watches, or any wearable communication devices (known as Mobile Communication Devices or MCDs) during the school day, including during breaks and lunch. High school students can use them during non-instructional time, but they must be powered off and out of sight during instructional time. Exceptions can be made for emergencies. See here for more information.
SRVUSD high school students will be diving deeper into the responsible use of AI. “We believe that our students need to learn responsible use and practices around AI to enhance and extend their learning as opposed to just using it as a shortcut,” the district said in a statement.
The district is collaborating with the cities of San Ramon and Danville to educate students and families on responsible e-bike usage.
