Toddler, Father Sought in Contra Costa County Custody Deprivation Case
Breaking: Jahron Najee Smith may be in Contra Costa County or Oakland, according to officials.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Contra Costa County sheriff's detectives are investigating a deprivation of custody case, a sheriff's spokesman said today. A Contra Costa County Superior Court judge awarded temporary guardianship of 3-year-old Jahkai Smith to a relative late last month, sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
Jahkai's father Jahron Najee Smith has ignored the court order and is refusing to turn over the child.
Because of his age, Jahkai is considered to be at risk. He is described as 3 feet tall and weighing 50 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Smith is said to be 5 feet 11 inches tall and 155 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Smith may be in Bay Point, Antioch, or Oakland, Lee said.
