1. Residents Challenge Danville's 2030 General Plan; What Do You Think?
About 200 residents came to the meeting at the Danville Community Center to express their objections to the proposed 2030 Danville General Plan.
Specifically, the Times reported, residents were concerned about increases in the number of low-income housing units in town. Danville's updated general plan proposes at least 9.6 acres around town for higher density, low-income housing.

2. Clients Remember Danville Veterinarian Killed in Plane Crash
A Danville man was killed when his home-built plane crashed near the Calaveras County Airport on Friday, Nov. 23.

The man killed, Dr. Russell Hackler, 68, worked at Grove Way Veterinary Hospital in Castro Valley.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Hackler was flying alone when the crash occurred.

After going missing on Thursday and making his way to Walnut Creek, the young Golden Retriever named Tucker was returned to his Danville home on Friday afternoon.
Tucker was staying with a family in Walnut Creek (who, coincidentally, also has a Golden Retriever) after they picked him up in the rain at Park and Ride at Sycamore Valley.
The community came together and used social media to help bring Tucker back home.
"I'm very grateful to live in a community of warm, caring people who have spent a lot of their valuable time helping us bring Tucker home," said Nancy Penn, Tucker's owner.
4. Big Rig Catches Fire on San Ramon Valley Boulevard
A big rig caught fire and then engulfed a construction vehicle it was carrying on San Ramon Valley Boulevard near Lucky's on Thursday afternoon, according the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 3:54 p.m. and it was extinguished by 4:07 p.m. Nobody was hurt.
