Traffic Light Changes Start In Downtown Danville
The town is installing a temporary flashing red light downtown due to ongoing construction.

DANVILLE, CA — Downtown Danville will see modified traffic Monday, part of ongoing work on Danville’s Downtown Master Catalyst Project. Crews are completing brickwork at Hartz Avenue and Diablo Road, and on School and Church Street. The town said it hopes to complete brick work on both by July 4.
The intersection of Diablo Road and Hartz Avenue will have a flashing red light from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for up to two weeks. The intersection should be treated as a three-way stop, with the following rules from the California Driver’s Handbook:
- Pedestrians always have the right of way
- The vehicle that arrives first has the right of way
- If vehicles arrive at the same time, the vehicle to the right goes first
- If a vehicle is turning left and an oncoming vehicle arrives at the same time, the vehicle going straight has the right of way
- Stop completely, and look both ways before proceeding
All businesses will remain open during construction. See here for more information and full updates on the Downtown Master Catalyst Project.
