Tri-Valley International Residents Group Hosting First Meeting In Danville

International People of the Bay Area, a group for local expats, is hosting a meeting with Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu.

DANVILLE, CA — The Tri-Valley is one of the most diverse areas of the world, and a new organization aims to celebrate that diversity.

International People of the Bay Area was co-founded by Adee Parnes and Mony Nop, two local business owners and community activists originally from Israel and Cambodia, respectively. The organization will host its first meeting at Arcely's Lounge in Danville on Sept. 24 from 4-6 p.m. The event will be attended by Dublin Mayor Shery Hu. The event is designed to help international residents mix, mingle, and connect.

“International People of the Bay Area connects me with a community that celebrates diversity, culture, and shared experiences. For me, it’s about belonging to a space where differences are embraced and where we grow by learning from one another’s stories and perspectives,” Karnes said in a statement.

“As someone who has spent much of my life bringing people together, I believe diversity is our greatest strength. The launch of International People of the Bay Area is about celebrating the cultures, stories, and resilience that make our community unique. My hope is that this initiative will serve as a bridge—connecting people across backgrounds, uplifting one another, and reminding us that together, we can create a stronger, more inclusive Bay Area,” said Nop.
