Truck Hits Child On Scooter In Danville: Police

The child, who was hit on a crosswalk along Diablo Road, is reported to be in stable condition.

DANVILLE, CA — A truck hit a child on a motorized scooter in Danville Thursday afternoon, according to the Danville Police Department. The child is reported to be in stable condition at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.

Just before 3:27 p.m., a child driving a Ninebot electric scooter was struck on a crosswalk by a Ford Maverick truck traveling westbound on Diablo Road, police said. The child was transported to a hospital, and the driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with authorities. Diablo Road was partially closed between Matadera Way and El Cajon Drive until just after 6 p.m.
