Bob Schiff captured this enormous spring moon in incredible detail.

DANVILLE, CA — What better way to welcome the spring than a beautiful full moon? Patch resident astronomer Bob Schiff sent us this detailed photo of the Worm Moon, so named because it arrives at around the time that earthworms are starting to wiggle up to the top of the warming soil. In Christianity, this moon is also called the Lenten Moon, marking the week of Lent, while Native Americans have several names for it, including the Crow Moon, Snow Crust Moon, and Sugar Moon.

Thanks, Bob!
