Building Sacramento Airport's Big, Red Rabbit (VIDEO)

For many travelers, this holiday season will be the first time they've seen Sacramento Airport's new Terminal B, which features some pretty interesting art. At the center of it all is a 56-foot long rabbit titled “Leap," which was designed by artist Lawrence Argent.

My brother, Travis Cox, works for Kreysler & Associates, which is the company that scaled up the initial design and built the final product. My brother spent several months at the site until construction was complete. Hear him discuss the project in the video above.  

Many have wondered why the airport would feature a large, red rabbit. Here's what the airport has to say: 

The artist chose to make a sculpture of a rabbit to appear as though it was leaping from the outside of the airport - in- and because it is instantly recognizable but allows airport users to come up with their own story or answer to the question, “Why a red rabbit”?
