Chevy vs. Tractor & Other Yolo County Traffic Collisions

Here is a digest of Yolo County traffic accidents from Wednesday, July 18, courtesty of the California Highway Patrol.
07/18/2012 - 3:52 PM - Eastbound I-80 east of Mace Boulevard
Herbert Oliver Mason, a 62 year old male from Fresno was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta on eastbound I-80, just east of Mace Boulevard. Michael Walter Brown, a 66 year old male from Sacramento was following the Volkswagen in a 2000 GMC Sonoma. Mason observed traffic ahead coming to a stop and he slowed the Volkswagen to a stop. Brown failed to slow the GMC, causing it to collide with the rear of the Volkswagen.

The traffic collision caused moderate damage to the involved vehicles. but there were no injuries reported.
07/18/2012 - 6:15 PM - Eastbound I-80 west of County Road 32B

Nancy Engechardt Orsolini, a 51 year old female from Rocklin was driving a 2011 Nissan Maxima on eastbound I-80, just east of CR-32B. Jesus Enrique Naranjo, a 33 year old male from West Sacramento was following the Nissan in a 2006 Pontiac G6 with Cristian Naranjo, a 2 year old male and Nadia Naranjo, a 7 year old female. Orosolini observed traffic ahead slow to a stop and she stopped the Nissan. Naranjo failed to slow the Pontiac, causing it to collide with the rear of the Nissan.
The traffic collision caused minor damage to the involved vehicles, but there were no injuries reported.
07/18/2012 - 8:42 PM - Mariposa Street and Muir Street
Mario Esparaza, a 44 year old male from Woodland was driving while unlicensed on southbound Mariposa Street. He was traveling in a 1996 Chevy Blazer as he approached the intersection with Muir Street, which is an uncontrolled intersection (no stop signs or traffic signals.) Yolo County Sheriff Deputy Hoyt was traveling on eastbound Muir Street in a fully marked Yolo County Sheriff Department patrol vehicle and was approaching the intersection with Mariposa Street. The two vehicles entered the intersection at approximately the same time, causing the front of the patrol vehicle to collide with the right front of the Chevy.
The traffic collision caused minor damage to both vehicles Deputy Hoyt suffered complaints of pain to his arm and back. He was transported by a Yolo County Sheriff's on-duty supervisor to Woodland Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the traffic collision is still under investigation.

07/18/2012 - 9:10 PM - County Road 23 west of County Road 86A
Maureen Claudia Stubblefield, a 72 year old female from Vacaville was driving a 2004 Chevy Classic on eastbound CR-23, just west of CR-86A. Micahel Anthony Spanne, a 46 year old male from Esparto was driving a Case Farm tractor on westbound CR-23 and was approaching the Chevy. As the vehicle passed each other the left side of the Chevy collided with the left side of the tractor.
The traffic collision caused moderate damage to the tractor and major damage to the Chevy, but there were no injuries were reported.
The cause of the traffic collision is still under investigation.
