Davis to Host Community Meeting on Marijuana Usage
The city's in the process of creating a regulatory framework & is holding a facilitated, informal discussion to hear residents' perspective.

DAVIS, CA -- With recreational marijuana use being approved by a statewide vote recently, the City of Davis has decided to have a talk with residents regarding the issue.
As of November 9, 2016, the use of marijuana by people 21 and over is permitted in California, as well as possession and cultivation for personal use within guidelines. The Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA), which was passed with 57 percent of California voters' approval, allows for Davis to implement local regulations on some aspects of personal use as well as full regulatory authority over commercial marijuana businesses.
The city says it's in the process of creating the regulatory framework and is holding a facilitated, informal discussion to hear residents' perspective on aspects of the city’s implementation of AUMA, including outdoor Cultivation for personal use -- which is limited by AUMA to six plants -- and zoning and regulation of cannabis businesses, including commercial cultivation, manufacturing, testing, dispensaries, and delivery services.
