• Bohart Museum sponsors annual bumblebee contest (davisenterprise.com) — UC Davis’ Bohart Museum is kicking off its annual First-Bumble Bee-of-the-Year contest on Jan. 1, inviting photos or videos of the first bumblebee spotted in Yolo or Solano counties. Past winners include Davis residents and UC Davis affiliates, and locals can compete for a Franklin’s bumblebee-themed mug by documenting early-season pollinators in their own yards or nearby parks.
