Worker's Body Found in East Davis Field

The body of a Hispanic male adult was found in a field in northeast Davis this afternoon.

The body was discovered in the field by a passerby about one-eighth of a mile West of the Mace curve, on the north side. The passerby notified authorities.

The man was deceased when the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department arrived.

The man had last been seen working on irrigation in the field around 8 am Monday morning. The cause of death is not yet known, but Lt. Martin Torres said the death does not appear to be suspicious.

The identity of the man has not yet been released. Authorities are waiting for positive identification from family.

An autopsy is expected to take place tomorrow, at which point more details will become available.
