5:30 pm
Buk Buk Bigups - One-man experimental electronic project. According to the project’s label, Weird Forest, Buk Buk Bigups is “Sacramento’s newest, best-kept, filthy secret.”
6:45 pm
G. Green – G. Green, which has members from Davis, Oakland and Sacramento, is garnering quite a bit more local attention lately for their perfect mix of pop, punk and retro surf. Expect a high-energy show that will get you moving.
8:00 pm
Cura Cochino – Cura Cochino plays straight-up, all-encompassing doom metal. However, it’s impossible to deny the band’s sultry edge, which is brought forth by Priscilla Ibarra’s Spanish lyrics—and the fact that she sings while head banging in the audience half of the time. Kenneth Hoffman, Sacramento metal legend and owner of Buried In Hell Records, plays guitar and provides backing vocals.
9:30 pm
Sister Crayon – Sister Crayon has rightfully been compared to Portishead and Massive Attack, but simply calling them a trip-hop band would fall short of their diverse talents. Terra Lopez, the band’s vocalist and songwriter, uses music as a tangible escape, head banging and tapping deeply into emotions onstage. They recently finished touring the country in support of Built to Spill and Maps & Atlases and California with Sea of Bees.
11:00 pm
Judgement Day –There are no guitars in the band Judgement Day—only a violin, a cello, and drums. Their music, like their name would suggest, would be a perfect soundtrack to the apocalypse: biblically epic, dissonant and classically beautiful, and brutal as any metal band with a guitar.
