Hit-and-Run Driver Kills 21-Year-Old in Davis

Police are investigating the incident that killed Vladimir Debabov. They believe the car was white, and that it had a low front end.

Update: Jan. 23 4:15 p.m. - The vehicle that struck Debabov has been identified as a white passenger vehicle, compact to mid-size with a low front end, according to CHP Special Investigation Officer Ridge. The vehicle likely has excessive front end and roof damage.

Jan. 23 5:30 a.m. - Vladimir Debabov, a 21-year-old from Foster City, was struck and killed by a driver early Saturday morning while walking on Highway 113 near Davis, the Davis Enterprise reported.

CHP reported that Debabov was walking northbound on the highway when he was struck at about 3:50 a.m. on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Debabov graduated from high school in 2009 and was attending UC Berkeley. He was on the high school track team and was part of his high school’s Interact Club, which promotes international understanding.

The Davis Enterprise is reporting that CHP has no information about the driver, who left the scene of the accident. It is unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the incident.
