Is Chalking Vandalism? (VIDEO)

Aggie TV reported a story in late October about “chalking” on the UC Davis sidewalks, which drew the attention of campus police. Similar chalk art has been drawn onto the concrete at Central Park, where has set up camp.

So, is chalk vandalism? What’s your opinion?

Rule 7 of Campus Posting Guidelines says that, “chalking is not permitted on campus.” Police approached several people on campus who were chalking prior to the Day of Action on October 27.

“Arresting people for temporary chalk art is the height of absurdity,” said UC Davis alum Skyler Blakeslee in the video. "Especially on campus where there’s supposed to be freedom of expression.”

Authorities at UC Davis have determined chalking to be vandalism. Do you agree?
