Power Outage Hits 4,063 Davis Customers; Were you Affected?

They expect to have all power restored by 12:15 pm.

An outage cut power in North and West Davis this morning.   

A reader sent us an email saying that the power was out in West Davis. The city confirmed that a massive outage was affecting the north and west sides of town. It began at about 7:30 this morning.

"It intially affected 4,063 customers in the north Davis area," said PG&E spokesperson Paul Moreno. "Crews are patrolling and have managed to restore power to all but 291 customers."

The cause is still unknown, but PG&E is looking into it. The reader who emailed us about the outage said that at least one place in the area maintained power. 

“The only place in West Davis which has power is shopping center,” the reader said in the email. “I left my office and am sitting in working. Fast wi fi here.”

The reader also said that power came on at one point this morning, but quickly went out again.

PG&E said they expect to get power back to the remaining customers by 12:15 today.
