Last Chance to Apply for the Full Refund for Parks Tax

Did you know that qualified low-income homeowners can get a full refund of their and Open Space Protection Tax for the coming year?

You must turn in a completed city application form by June 29, 2012. The cost of the tax is $49 per year for each residential home. Here’s more from the :

This is an annual refund program, not an exemption from the tax, which appears on your property tax bill. To be eligible, applicants must be owner-occupants of property in Davis and meet the low-income requirements for the gross or total combined household income. Maximum income limits for both taxes are based on 50% of median income for your household size. For example, the total or gross combined household income for one cannot exceed $26,950, for a family of two it cannot exceed $30,800. The limit for a family of four is $38,450 and the limit for a family of eight is $50,800. Only one application is required for both refund programs.
