Meklit Hadero and Boca do Rio at Sophia’s Tonight

Meklit Hadero was born in Ethiopia but began her creative career in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she flourished among the city's vibrant art scene.

Her music is a blend of the music she grew up on (soul and jazz), the music she currently loves (hip-hop and art-rock), and traditional music from America as well as her native east Africa.

Her 2010 release “On a Day Like This,” catapulted her to new heights, and now she’s coming to in Davis.

The show, which will begin at 8:30, will feature Boca do Rio (samba, baião, more) as the opening act. The cost is $5 and the show is 21+.
