No Foul Play in Death of Farm Worker Jose Arroyo-Rodriguez

The 56-year-old worker was found dead in an east Davis field Monday.

The man who was found dead in an east Davis field last week was a 56-year-old farm laborer named Jose Arroyo-Rodriguez, of Woodland.

There were no signs of foul play, according to an autopsy that took place Wednesday.

“The cause is still pending,” said Yolo County Coroner Robert LaBrash. “There was no indication of any heat related ailments that contributed to his death.”

It’s also not yet clear how long he was dead before he was found. He was last seen at 8 am Monday. A passerby discovered the body about six hours later, around 2 pm.

The body was about one-eighth of a mile West of the Mace curve, on the north side, across from Harper Junior High School. The passerby notified authorities.

More tests will be conducted in the coming weeks to further determine the cause of death.
