Occupying Occupy Davis: Group to Protest the Protesters in Central Park

"If you're sick and tired of looking at a bunch of dirty hippies in central park then join me tomorrow evening for the Taking Back Davis movement," the website says.

A group has emerged on Facebook that aims to mount a protest against the who have "occupied" central park for several weeks. They have set up tents and plan to remain there indefinitely. 

Occupying Occupy Davis so far has 44 confirmed attendees, with 14 others who say they might attend. 209 more people have not yet replied to the online invite.

The event was created by Jason Tyler Wolpert, who didn’t immediately respond to an email from Davis Patch. The group’s description says:

Comments on the Facebook wall suggest that an initial protest was cancelled, but a new date is set for November 23, from 5-6 pm.

The posts on the page range from links to local Tea Party and Republican groups, to more casual comments, like “seriously central park is turning into a slum,” and others. The page features a GOP elephant as its image.
