Parolee Flees and is Caught in Davis

The police department helped with the search just east of downtown Davis.

UPDATE: Davis Police and parole officers arrested a 25-year-old parolee Thursday after he fled after being placed in custody, authorities say.

The two agencies–along with a CHP helicopter–began searching for the man around 3:45 p.m., Davis Police spokesman Lt. Glenn Glasgow said.

Around 6:50 p.m., the suspect, Davis resident Michael Cruz, was located by a Davis Police K-9 officer. He was found in the 1200 block of Covell Place, Glasgow said.

"The suspect sustained minor injuries," Glasgow said in an email. "Cruz was [arrested] on charges of resisting arrest, prowling, and burglary as a result of Davis PD's participation."

He added that parole officers may also have booked Cruz on additional charges.
