Swastika Burned into Picnic Table at Holmes Junior High

Police don't have evidence linking this to last month's incident in which a noose was hung from a football goal post.

Someone burned the image of a Swastika into a picnic table at Holmes Junior High School. The top of another table was burned as well. 

This comes less than a month after an incident at in which a noose was Police don't have any suspects or evidence linking the two incidents. The noose at Davis High prompted a community meeting. ()

Davis Police went to Holmes Junior High School at 9:30 a.m. on Monday in response to what they called a "Hate Incident Vandalism/Arson."

Police determined that sometime between July 6 and July 9, "someone charred the impression of a Swastika on one of the picnic tables and burned the top of another metal picnic table."

Both tables were located in the school's courtyard, according to a release from Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov. He elaborated on the incident:

Police processed the scene and are investigating this crime. There are no suspects at this time and no evidence to suggest this incident is somehow related to the prior and already reported on hate incidents that occurred last month.The Davis Police is committed to keeping our community involved and aware of such events. Schools can be prime targets for vandalism during the summer months.
