Tonight: City Council to Discuss Downtown Parking, Teen Center & More
Does downtown Davis have a parking problem?

Most parking discussions these days are centered around the potential construction of a five-story structure downtown.
While that will definitely be a part of tonight's conversation, it’s listed on the agenda as one of many bullet points aimed at enhancing the the overall downtown parking situation. Here are those bullets:
- Guide drivers to spaces and visitors to their destinations
- Evaluate two-hour time limits and tiered (escalating) fines for repeat violations
- Complete upgrade and sign improvements to the 1st and F parking structure.
- Increase useage of 4th and G Structure
- Convert Depot parking lot into paid parking lot
- Commission a streetscape improvement plan to enhance shopping nad sidewalk dining experience, better accommodate bikes and strengthen connections between peripheral parking areas and destinations
The final item is to continue with preliminary design of a mixed-use structure on the lot between 3-4-E-F Streets.

Vets Hall as Teen Center
Staff will also recommend that the Veterans’ Memorial Center is the preferred option to met the needs of youth/teen programs, due to the facility’s location and potential for modernization.
