Train Slams into Honda Civic Near East Davis
The driver from Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An Amtrak train slammed into an empty Honda Civic outside east Davis last night, according to the CHP. The driver of the vehicle was suspected of driving under the influence.
29-year-old Alexius Russell of Sacramento was driving westbound on Country Road 32A, near Country Road 105A around 7:50 pm. The car went off-road and came to rest on the tracks, at which point Russell got out.
Shortly after, the train came and slammed into the 2005 sedan, which burst into flames.

Russell was arrested and taken to the Yolo County jail for suspected DUI. None of the train’s passengers were injured.
