Weltz Qualifies for Semifinals in 200m Breaststroke
The 2010 UC Davis graduate will swim for Team USA again at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Swimmer and UC Davis graduate Scott Weltz took one step closer to an Olympic medal in London this morning, advancing to the semifinals in the mens' 200-meter breaststroke event.
Weltz, a volunteer coach for the university's women's swim team, earned a time of 2:09.67 in his qualifying heat—the seventh-fastest in a field of 34 competitors.
The semifinals will air on NBC tonight at 8:20 p.m.
