Yolo Animal Shelter Could Win Thousands From National Contest: How You Can Help
The ASPCA is holding a photo contest with voting open until Aug. 5.

The Yolo County Animal Services Department could win $100,000 in a national contest.
The ASPCA and Rachael Ray are giving away $100,000 to the animal shelter that saves the most additional animals in a three-month period, and an extra $5,000 to the shelter whose photo receives the most "likes" on Pinterest.
The Yolo County Animal Shelter is being represented in the photo contest by Lina Layiktez's 3-year-old pit bull, shown above. "Like" or "repin" the photo here to vote for the shelter.

Great news! Lina Layiktez submitted photos of her newly adopted “Nora,” a 3-year old spayed White Pit Bull to the Rachael Ray $100K Challenge Photo Contest (on behalf of the Yolo County Animal Services Section) and one of those submissions is among the top 40 finalists!
The $100K Challenge is a 3-month contest in which 50 shelters across the country will compete to break their own records at saving animals’ lives. The Photo Contest showcases some of the adorable animals who were reclaimed by their owners or adopted from shelters in the $100K Challenge.

A panel of ASPCA judges has selected 40 finalists based on the aesthetic quality of the photo submissions and how compellingly the submission demonstrates the $100K Challenge’s mission to save lives.
All finalist photos will be posted on an ASPCA $100K Challenge Photo Contest Pinterest Board where the public will be invited to vote for the winners from July 23, 2013 to August 5, 2013 by liking and re-pinning their favorite photos. Winners will be determined by the number of likes (re-pins count as two likes).
