Yolo Traffic Collisions From the Last 24 Hours

A brief summary of traffic collisions from the last 24 hours in Yolo County, courtesy of the California Highway Patrol.

07/25/2012 - 4:30 PM - State Route 16 east of 29289 State Route 16

Luis Estrada Jungo, a 27 year old male from Esparto was driving a Ford Focus on westbound SR-16 just west of 29289 SR-16.  Martin Vargas Bermudez, a 26 year old male from Madison was following the Ford in a 1994 Honda Accord.  Jungo slowed the Ford to a stop for unknown reasons.  Bermudez failed to slow the Honda, causing it to collided with the rear of the Honda.

The traffic collision caused moderate damage to the involved vehicles, but there were no injuries reported.

07/25/2012 - 4:24 PM - Eastbound I-80 west of County Road 32B

Christopher Patrick McFarland, a 43 year old male from Las Vegas was driving a 2012 Chevy Impala on eastbound I-80, just west of CR-32B.  An unknown driver was traveling in a 1998 Dodge Ram slightly behind and to the left of the Chevy.  The unknown driver made an unsafe lane change to the right, causing the Dodge to collided with the left rear side of the Chevy.

Following the traffic collision, the unknown driver fled the scene in the Dodge.

The traffic collision caused minor damage to the Chevy and unknown damage to the Dodge.  There were no injuries reported in relation to this traffic collision.

07/25/2012 - 8:10 PM - County Road 93A at Russell Boulevard

Calvin David Crabill, a 87 year old male from Davis was driving a 1987 Oldsmobile Delta on westbound Russell Boulevard.  He was traveling with Janice Bazinet, a 70 year old female from El Macero and Carol Crabill, a 64 year old female from Davis.  Crabill was approaching the intersection of CR-93A and Russell Boulevard at the same time as a 2002 Toyota Echo, driven by Natasha Tiana Panattoni, a 16 year old female from Winters.

The intersection was an uncontrolled intersection and Panattoni failed to yield the tight of way to te Oldsmobile prior to attempting a left turn.  The Oldsmobile collided with the Toyota, causing moderate damage to both vehicles.  Bazinet, suffered complaints of pain to her foot and Carol Crabill suffered complaints of pain to her right knee, but both refused medical treatment at the scene.

07/25/2012 - 8:40 PM - County Road 8 west of I-5

Jack Lee Werner, a 47 year old male from Junction City was driving a 1010 Toyota with tinted windows when he was stopped by a CHP K-9 patrol unit on CR-8, just west of I-5.  Officers contacted Werner and observed that he was exhibiting signs of drug/alcohol intoxication.  Officers performed a DUI evaluation and determined that Werner was driving while under the influence of drugs.

Werner was subsequently arrested for DUI and being under the influence of a controlled.
