DEL MAR, CA — The beach at the 17th Street Lifeguard tower in Del Mar was closed Friday after a female swimmer was bitten by a shark, lifeguards told NBC7 San Diego.

The woman was on a mile-long swim with another person when she was bitten, NBC7 reported.
