Monday Essentials: Fall Forecast, Scream Zone and Football
See what's coming up this week, including the opening of The Scream Zone at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

The season officially switched to fall over the weekend, but nobody will blame you if you didn't notice. It doesn't quite feel like fall in Del Mar, and it won't for the rest of this week.
Here's a look at a few things to know for the upcoming week:
- Fall? Del Mar temperatures Monday and Tuesday are expected to be in the mid-to upper-70s, followed by high-60s highs on Wednesday and Thursday before things warm up heading into the weekend.
- Chargers Fútbol: The Chargers seem to be up to the usual this season, giving hope and then dashing it at the last second. The last-minute loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday—during which quarterback Philip Rivers kicked the ball in a desperation move—was a tough one for Chargers fans. Next up for the Bolts are the Dallas Cowboys, who are 2-1 on the season to the home team's 1-2. The game is set to kick off at 1:25 p.m. Sunday at Qualcomm.
- Get Ready to Scream: The Scream Zone at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is starting again for the Halloween season on Thursday. In addition to the House of Horror, this year there will be a new attraction: Zombie Paintball Safari. The Scream Zone is open on selected dates for September, October and November.
