Diamond Bar Red Tags Condo Complex, Forcing Residents Out: Report
City officials ordered residents at the 150-unit Village at Diamond Bar condominimum complex to vacate their homes following an inspection.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — Dozens of families in Diamond Bar will soon be without a home after city officials red-tagged a 150-unit condominium complex after finding multiple issues that risked the health and safety of residents, according to a report from Fox 11.
The problems at The Village at Diamond Bar complex included a termite infestation, deteriorated building foundations and damaged floor supports, the station reported. Residents of the two-story complex were warned on Sept. 30 they had until Oct. 18 to vacate the building.
The second-floor units of the building received a red tag from the city, which prohibited residents from re-entering their units after vacating, Diamond Bar officials said. The first-floor units received yellow tags, which meant residents could only re-enter their homes to gather any personal items.

Residents told Fox 11 they were surprised by the city’s vacate order. Two residents told the station they didn't know about the seriousness of the complex's issues.
Diamond Bar did not provide the complex’s residents with any relocation services. Instead, city officials said residents were entitled to relocation assistance from their landlord under state law.
