Local public safety officials will lead an emergency preparedness workshop the evening of Wednesday, May 25 that is open to all area residents.

The lesson will give a general overview of natural- and man-made disasters with a focus on wildfires and earthquakes. Representatives from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Sheriff's Department as well as the American Red Cross will be on hand for the event.

In addition to providing information and materials to help individuals protect themselves and their property during an emergency, the workshop will also address common disaster-related misconceptions.
