WVUSD Resident Writes Open Letter to School Board Candidates
Voters head to the polls on Tuesday.

Dear Walnut Valley Unified School District Board Member Candidate,
Thank you for your interest in running for the Walnut Valley Unified School Board. This letter is addressed to you because you are seeking such an important and vital leadership position within our district. Due to the fact that the election is a day away, and many of us concerned parents and constituents are contemplating our final decision on how to cast our vote this Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 at the ballot box, we would like to express a few sincere concerns in an open letter to all of you.
We are seeking a statement of support for policies we hope to have the WVUSD implement in the near future district wide.

(1) Eliminate the use of multi-grade classrooms within the district, or
(2) If such multi-grade classrooms be a necessity, due to the nature and realities of fiscal constraints upon the district, their implementation should be of a “last resort” option only when accompanied by proper teacher training, support, and resources. Furthermore, that each educator who is assigned a multi-grade class has an instructional aide assigned to their classroom for that year of multi-grade instruction.

In addition, we also want a public statement of support that the newly elected individuals to the WVUSD will further make it a priority to try and have the Walnut Valley Unified School District re-categorized by the State of California from a low-affluent rural district to one that is deemed more suitable and beneficial to our students and community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and we hope that you will issue a statement of support addressing our concerns in a timely manner as our final voting decision draws ever so near.
Most Sincerely,
Mirela Golonka
