25-Year-Old Woman Identified in Fatal Collision Near Elmira Tuesday: UPDATED

Brandy Bauman, 25, of Dixon and Camino passed away Tuesday in a crash in the rural area of Vacaville.

ELMIRA, CA- The Solano County coroner's office has identified the victim of a vehicle collision near Vacaville on Tuesday morning as 25-year-old Brandy Bauman. Reports have said that Bauman is a resident of Camino in El Dorado County, however, Dixon residents call her a local.

Michael Morris reported on Facebook that Bauman grew up in Dixon, stating, "I remember going to CAJ and Tremont with her, pretty sure she was at the high school for a year or two."

"Sad news whenever someone dies so tragically but it hits you a little harder when you know them," said Morris.

Bauman was driving a Honda Prelude south on Lewis Road approaching Fry Road in unincorporated Solano County around 10:20 a.m.

Tuesday when she failed to stop at a stop sign, California Highway Patrol Officer David Harvey said. The Honda was hit on the left side by a Chevrolet Silverado driving west by a 37-year-old Tracy man who did not have a stop sign on Fry Road.

Bauman was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:14 a.m., according to the coroner's office.

The Silverado driver was not injured. The CHP is investigating whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, Harvey said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that left a 25-year-old woman dead in unincorporated Solano County near Vacaville Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Fry and Lewis roads.

The CHP has identified the deceased woman as a 25-year-old from Camino.

The woman was driving a Honda Prelude, originally reported as a grey Prius by CHP, south on Lewis Road approaching Fry Road when she failed to stop at a posted stop sign, according to the CHP. She drove onto Fry Road, and a Chevrolet Silverado struck the left side of her vehicle.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was not injured in the crash.

The CHP is investigating if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
