5 Super Athletes With Ties To Dixon
Patch has teamed up with T-Mobile to celebrate five standout athletes whose achievements have left a lasting impression on our community.

Sports have a way of teaching invaluable life lessons — building character, fostering teamwork and strengthening the bonds within a community. In the Dixon area, these values have shaped some truly remarkable athletes from different eras, whose accomplishments continue to inspire.
Patch has teamed up with T-Mobile to spotlight five standout athletes whose achievements have left a lasting mark on our community. While this list is just a snapshot, there are countless others who have helped shape the rich sports culture in our area.
Cailin Bloom (Soccer)
Cailin Bloom is a multi-sport athlete who competed in soccer, track & field and water polo during her time at Dixon High School. She is best known as a defender, and her performance earned her the title of Golden Empire League Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 and Dixon HS Female Athlete of the Year in 2020. Bloom competed in club soccer for Davis Legacy during her high school tenure, earning top player recognition at multiple showcases. She also played for the University of California women’s soccer team during her senior year in 2024. Off the field, Bloom was a Distinguished Scholar with a 4.0+ GPA and received multiple scholarships.

Jaida Aikens (Swimming)
Jaida Aikens was a record-breaking swimmer and scholar-athlete who was inducted into the Dixon High School Hall of Fame in 2024. She maintained a 4.0+ GPA while earning All-League honors all four years and was named Golden Empire League MVP her senior year. As of last year, Aikens still holds multiple school records, including 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley. After high school, she competed for UC San Diego’s swim and rowing teams and graduated in 2017. She now works as a Practice Coordinator at UCSF Orthopedics.
Daniel Williams (Football & Wrestling)
A Dixon High School standout in both football and wrestling, Daniel Williams (Class of 1982) was a dominant force in SCAL competition. He won six individual conference wrestling titles (a school record), was undefeated in SCAL wrestling for four years and won the Delta League tournament twice. Williams was an exceptional student as well, graduating 6th in his class with a 3.8 GPA. He went on to attend Colorado State University and now lives in Dallas, where he has coached youth sports for over a decade. He joined the Dixon High School Hall of Fame in 2023.

Kayla Riede (Golf)
Kayla Riede is a 2009 Dixon High School grad who was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2023. The four-year starter and captain for Dixon’s golf team led the team to three CVC Championships and was MVP all four years. Reide won the CVC Player of the Year award three times and finished 1st at the California Divisional Championships in her senior year. She went on to play college golf at the University of Tulsa and later earned her MBA from the University of Texas-El Paso, where she also served as a graduate assistant golf coach.
Zack Nash (Football)
Dixon-born Zack Nash was a standout football player for Vacaville High School and later, Sacramento State. He was a dominant linebacker who earned All-America second-team honors and was a first-team All-Big Sky selection. After college, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2012, spending time on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster the following season.
