The fire started while a resident was mowing a lawn at a home on Acacia Lane, off Peaceful Glen Road, around 12:30 p.m. Vacaville Fire Protection District Chief Doug Rogers said.

The mower might have caused a spark when it struck a rock, Rogers said.

The fire burned four parcels in an area that consists of dry, rolling hills, and the flames initially appeared to be headed toward structures, Rogers said.

The blaze went to four alarms because winds were increasing, Rogers said. Firefighters were still mopping up around 2:30 p.m.

The Vacaville Fire Department, Dixon Fire Department, Cal Fire and Vacaville Fire Protection District responded to the blaze.
