Dixon Groom Marries His Bride at Grillin' and Chillin 3

For 25-year-old Dixon resident Alan Anderson, the road to the altar was paved by surgeries, cancer medicines, a whole lot of water and some blood transfusions.

Perhaps that's why Alan, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 testicular cancer that spread through his body, decided to share one of the happiest days of his life -- his marriage to his sweetheart Pamela Cash -- with the many people who have shown his support throughout his battle against cancer.

Today, Alan appears to be holding his own against the cancer that has dramatically changed his life. With the help of a bone marrow transplant, Alan's body is making progress against the disease.

On Saturday, Alan and Pamela tied the knot during Grillin and Chillin 3, the wildly popular rib-and-chili cookoff that is fast becoming a Dixon tradition. It was with the help of friends such as local musician Suzanne Lorente and many others, that the couple was able to pull the wedding together.

The couple, who met several years ago at Cornerstone Baptist Church, tied the knot in front of their friends, family and curious Dixonites. Alan is the nephew of Dixon City Councilman and his wife, Janelle.
