The Dixon Little League 9-10 Division All Stars are on a roll so far in the All-Star Tournament hosted by Dixon Little League.
On Sunday morning, the team beat the Vacaville National All Star team, 15-4. Tonight, the team faces Woodland National Little League’s All Star Team, 8 p.m., at Hall Memorial Park.
Coach Mike Del Mugnaio said tonight’s game is a winner’s bracket game with four teams in the running.

“I expect us to play solid,” Del Mugnaio said. “That was our first game out (Sunday) and you can tell that the kids were a little bit nervous, they are 9 and 10 year olds. I expect the defense to be a little more solid tonight and our pitching to be solid. And hopefully a W.”
On Sunday, the Mercy Rule came into play at the bottom of the fourth inning, Del Mugnaio said.

“So I started off the game with Anthony Galindo, who gave us a solid one and a half inning or so,” Del Mugnaio said. “Following off with Joey Holecek, who gave us another good inning. Followed by Kobe Peters who gave us another good inning. We had solid pitching throughout.”
And while the pitching was keeping the other team from scoring the runs, the bats of Anthony Galindo, AJ O’Neal, Cody Peters, Elias Benton, Brett Braun and Dawson Dwyer swung the team to victory, Del Mugnaio said.
“We were a little slow coming out of the gate we had a couple of runs in the first inning, which is good,” he said. “We put another run on the board in the second inning. In the third inning, we exploded. I think we had like a 10-run inning. We had a very good at-bat with the whole team.”
