Dixon's Financial Picture Has Improved, is Stable

The city's finances are stable, the Reporter reported.

The city of Dixon's "financial picture has improved," the city's finance director Joan Michaels Aguilar told councilmembers Tuesday, according to the Reporter

Dixon's stable budget was discussed during a mid-year budget review during the city council meeting Tuesday. 

Although sales tax revenue is lower, auto and boat sales have increased, according to the Reporter

This news comes just as a political deal struck in the summer of 2011 is expected to begin to affect the economy, Patch reported. Solano County's economy has an uncertain future. 

Solano County has nearly 11,000 federal employees and retirees, according to Eye on Washington, and their fate could include furloughs or worse. Media reports include warnings on delays in air travel and tax refunds. Civilians employed by the Department of Defense face the possibility of furloughs, Patch reported.

But Dixon seems to be doing well this year, so far.
