The California Highway Patrol said the 16-year-old Fairfield girl, whose name was not release pending notification of next of kin, was driving a 1998 Nissan Frontier south on Ramsey Road at a high rate of speed.

The teenager drove her truck into the north lane of Ramsey Road and continued off the roadway, where she hit a dirt embankment and became airborne, according to the CHP. She continued another 60 feet before colliding with a tree.
