Finishers Win Big at the Summer Reading Final Party

The Dixon Public Library's Summer Reading Program came to an official close with a July 19 party.

ANNELISE FRY, age 10, won the drawing for a $200 gift certificate from at the Final Party of the Summer Reading Program.    Second prize winner was Ethan Nunes, age 6, and third prize went to Alexa Coyle, age 7.

Over 160 children, ages five through twelve, met the program’s goals by reading 20 books or 2,000 pages, and were awarded a pass to the party in the Women’s Improvement Park on July 19.

and donated the main dish, and provided a scrumptious cake.  Wild Things, Inc., an animal refuge organization from Weimar California, presented an owl, a bush baby, a white hedgehog, a possum, and a python.

Kids and parents had a blast, and look forward to more crafts, entertainment, and reading next summer.
