Vacaville Resident Tyler Grande, Found Beaten on July 4, Dies in Hospital
Police search for clues in the beating death of Tyler Grande

A man who was severely beaten at a Fourth of July celebration in Vacaville died at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento Sunday, police said today.
Tyler Grande, 20, of Vacaville was found at 11:55 p.m. in the 100 block of Garden Circle unconscious and suffering from a head injury, Sgt. Jeff King said.

An estimated 200 people were taking part in the July 4 celebration there, but police did not locate anyone who saw how Grande was injured, King said.
Grande, who was struck at least once in the head, had surgery to relieve swelling of his brain, King said.

Police believe the possible suspect of the assault is a muscular white man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, who was wearing light-colored clothing.

Fenton's Creamery and Restaurant in Vacaville and Crime Stoppers have offered a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction, King said.
King said police responded to three violent incidents, two stabbings and Grande's assault, in the same neighborhood within seven hours on July 4. Police do not believe they are related, King said.
