$1.56M Powerball Ticket Sold In Dublin, One Of 2 In California
One lucky winner got five Powerball numbers right, but came just one number short of winning the $1.8 billion jackpot.
DUBLIN, CA — A lottery ticket sold at the Circle K at 7850 Amador Valley Boulevard in Dublin is worth more than $1.56 million, according to the California State Lottery. It was one of two tickets to win that amount from matching the first five Powerball numbers correctly: the other was sold at Love's Travel Stop in 2000 East Tehachapi Boulevard in Tehachapi, a small town near Bakersfield.
Still, no one in California correctly guessed that crucial sixth Powerball number, which would have netted them a staggering $1.787 billion. That prize, the second largest in the game's history, was split two winning tickets in Texas and Missouri. If anyone beats the 1 in 292.2 million odds, they have the choice of receiving yearly payments totaling $1.787 billion, or a lump sum payment of $826.4 million.
Saturday's numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, 62, and 17.

Thirty-three people across California guessed 4 Powerball numbers correctly for Saturday's drawing, winning about $24,271 each. Two winners also took home roughly $28,639 each after guessing five correct SuperLotto Plus numbers. The Mega Millions jackpot is currently estimated at $358 million, while SuperLotto Plus has a top prize of $41 million.
“Giant jackpots like the one we were all watching these past few weeks help us to build excitement in California – not only around the possibility of winning millions or billions, but also the natural benefit they bring when more people play,” California State Lottery spokesperson Carolyn Becker said in a statement. “Larger prize pots attract more players, giving our sales a boost, and in turn – benefitting public education even more.”

As noted, Saturday's Powerball win is the second largest lottery win in history, but the largest was a $2.04 billion win in November 2022 at Joe's Service Center in Altadena, California.
