• Holiday Homecoming: Adoption fees waived for adult cats, dogs at East Bay SPCA (pleasantonweekly.com) — Dublin residents can adopt adult cats and dogs for free at the East Bay SPCA’s Dublin shelter on Gleason Drive now through Dec. 31, thanks to a holiday sponsorship. The waived fees apply to pets at least one year old and aim to ease overcrowding and help more animals find homes during the holidays.
   

• Two earthquakes rattle San Ramon region (mercurynews.com) — A pair of earthquakes shook the San Ramon area Saturday night, including a 3.9 magnitude temblor centered just over three miles north of Dublin. While no injuries were reported, the quakes followed a swarm the previous night and continue a weeks-long pattern of regional seismic activity residents may have felt.
