Cozy French Toast: Reader Recipe Of The Week
Patch Editor Ashley Ludwig shares her recipe for a sweet, cinnamony French toast that's to die for.

Cooking with Courtney is bringing you a recipe from our very own Patch Editor Ashley Ludwig, who whipped up an out-of-this world French toast.
Trust me, you'll be wanting to cook this up for the family's breakfast this weekend! And maybe lunch and dinner, too...
It makes four pieces of toast, but you might even want to double this recipe. Or triple it. No judgment here.

Ingredients
- 4 pieces cinnamon bread, or other plain bread
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk or unsweetened dairy-free milk
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tsp. coconut oil or other neutral-flavored oil
- dash of cinnamon
- dash of nutmeg
- Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
- Whisk egg, milk, honey and spices. Allow bread to soak in the mixture.
- While bread soaks, heat coconut oil in a griddle. Fry each piece of bread for about 2 minutes on each side.
- Serve with maple syrup.
And if you want to get really fancy, Ashley suggests you add some honeyed oats to the top of the soaked bread slices just before frying.
