Body Of Brother Of Alameda Co. Sheriff's Office Employee Found In Lake Tahoe

BREAKING: Dan Pham was least heard from on June 8.

The body of a man identified as the brother of an Alameda County Sheriff's Office employee was found Saturday in Lake Tahoe, El Dorado and Alameda county sheriff's officials said Sunday. Dan Pham's body was recovered in 245 feet of water off Rubicon Point.

Officials with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office posted a message on Facebook about the recovery of Pham's body but did not say whom he's related to in the sheriff's office. At 9:15 a.m. on June 8, Pham called a friend to say he was going kayaking and camping in the Lester Beach area. Pham was not heard from again after 6:15 p.m.

He had left in a kayak from Lester Beach on his way to a boat camp in Emerald Bay. Early search efforts turned up nothing except one lead from Search and Rescue K-9s in an area where Pham was eventually found. Pham's body was found by a team with a Wisconsin-based non-profit called Bruce's Legacy using a side scan sonar.
