LPFD Names New Permanent Fire Chief
Aaron Lacey has served as interim chief since August, and served five years as deputy chief before that.

PLEASANTON, CA — Aaron Lacey, who has served as the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department's interim chief since August, was named the department's next permanent fire chief.
"Chief Lacey brings a wealth of experience from years of dedicated service within LPFD and a proven commitment to delivering exceptional service to the communities of Livermore and Pleasanton," the department said in a statement. "Throughout his career, Chief Lacey has been recognized for his focus on staff development, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership which are strengths that have helped advance the department and support our dedicated personnel."
Lacey joined LPFD in 2005 and has since served in several leadership roles, including fire captain in 2011, battalion chief in 2016, and deputy chief in 2020. He has also provided interim leadership with LPFD and helped implement several initiatives. He was named interim chief in August after the retirement of long-time Chief Joe Testa, who said that he "brings the tools, experience, and commitment needed to continue moving the Department forward. With a broad background spanning administration, operations, and specialized areas of the fire service, he is well prepared for this role."
