Driver Crashes Into Freeway Service Tow Truck On I-580, Sustains 'Major Injuries': CHP
A driver veered into an FSP wrecker truck helping a disabled vehicle, causing a multi-vehicle crash and major injuries.

DUBLIN, CA — A woman sustained major injuries after crashing into a Freeway Service Patrol tow truck on I-580, according to the California Highway Patrol.
On Tuesday at around 8:20 a.m., the truck was assisting a disabled vehicle at the reversed gore point of I-580 westbound at San Ramon Road, according to CHP. The driver of a Nissan Sentra entering westbound I-580 from San Ramon Road veered to the left and rear-ended the truck. This pushed the truck into the disabled vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan sustained major injuries and was transported to Eden Hospital, CHP said. It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
